Extra Practice and Reinforcement

Assisting with homework can be time-consuming for parents with busy schedules. While our students work through problems, we check to ensure all steps are properly shown and provide constructive feedback. In many cases, we work through problems together. We also provide extra practice to build the skills to tackle difficult questions.

Catch-Up Block or Preview Lesson

Sometimes a student might miss a class or struggle to understand a lesson given at school. Our individualized instruction provides students with the opportunity to ask questions and clarify confusion the second time around. Or, we may decide to preview the a subsequent unit in order to prepare for the next class and set the student up for success.

Test-Taking Strategies

Exams can be a student's worst enemy!

They can also be a way to demonstrate

how much you know. Exam preparation

includes review, interleaving, drills, and memory tricks. We also teach our students about how their brain works and the strategies that help. Our philosophy is that high marks are just a byproduct of deep understanding.

Study/Research Skills

Our role is to provide support to my students so that they can grow to become independent learners in any class. In order to achieve this, a solid foundation in study and research skills is essential. We provide these tools for success and encourage our students to use them frequently. The result is intrinsic motivation and self-reliance.
